It’s fajita time! Who doesn’t love some easy to make fajitas? Our home absolutely loves them, but sometimes, we are not able to prep the bar-b-que pit in time. Not to worry! Fajitas can be made in a skillet on the stove too! It is actually pretty easy. Here is how I do it below!
How To Make Skillet Fajitas
Ingredients
- Olive oil or bacon grease (if you store it)
- 3 Limes
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- Worcester sauce (to taste)
- And i like to add beer bout 6oz. (Optional)
- Garlic salt
- Black pepper
- Cayenne pepper (1/2 tea spoon)
- Oregano
- Cumin
- Uncle Chris’s seasoning (Fiesta brand)
DIRECTIONS
Marinade:
(mix all this in a a 2 gallon freezer bag put in 2 flank steaks. Place in refrigerator for 2 hours. )
Key Limes: 5-7
Orange juice:quarter cup
And i like to add beer bout 6oz. (Optional)
Garlic salt
Black pepper
Cayenne pepper (1/2 tea spoon)
Oregano
Cumin
Uncle Chris’s seasoning (Fiesta brand)
Cooking the Steak:
1. Remove steak from marinade bout 20- 30 minutes before cooking and pat dry. Sprinkle some Uncle Chris’s- lightly
2. Cut skirt steak into thin strips. Then cut those strips in half, diagonally.
3. In a cast iron skillet add about 3/4 of a table spoon of oil or grease. Heat over high heat bout 2 minutes.
3. Cook meat to your liking, I like no blood. Cook time about 15 minutes.
What Can I Serve With Fajitas?
Serve with veggies: You can add many veggies! Here are a few:
Sweet yellow onion: Cut into 1/4″ thick circles
Bell pepper: 2 slice into 1/2″ strips
Jalapeno: 2 (optional if you like hot stuff) Served without seeds, lengthwise. 1/8″ think slices
Mushrooms. Cut into slices
Garlic 4 large cloves mince
Roma tomatos: 2 to 3 cut into 1/8th wedges.
What other sides can I serve with fajitas?
You can serve fajitas with mexican rice, refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and tortillas just to name a few.
