Glamping in the Texas Hill Country
🛖 We stayed in a beautiful handmade Mongolian yurt, secluded in privacy, with a hot tub, walk in outdoor shower, and amazing scenery! It was the perfect place for us to relax, recharge and get away for a moment.
There are two beautiful locations, one in Dripping Springs, Tx. and the other in Wimberly, Tx. We stayed at the one in Dripping Springs, Tx just outside of Austin. It felt like we were so far away, the property is massive! Full of trees, a creek that you can walk down and absolutely stunning views, it was exactly what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Top tier glamping for sure!
They do offer complimentary wifi, and a television you can watch that is outside on the deck too. Personally, it was too beautiful to watch anything, but we did put it on for a little bit just to see how it was.
There is also a gas fireplace which was a pretty large size, with two large and comfortable large, white chairs to enjoy it. They have a small kitchenette area with a small refrigerator, a gas grill, plates, utensils and glassware. You can even buy a Yeti glass as a souvenir if you wish. Pretty nice for glamping!
Did I mention the balcony yet? Oh my goodness, the view up there is spectacular! They have a spiraled staircase which goes up there, with two chairs and a very comfortable hammock too to watch the sunset, or bird watch, or whatever you are into.
The yurt has a desk on the inside with a quick fact history list for you. It takes Mongolians an hour to build the yurts, and it takes the property owners about a day. There is a certain way you enter the yurt too, as well as the natural products it takes to make the yurt. I really liked that they had that fact sheet at their desk!
I also signed their guest book which I loved. I haven’t seen a guest book in a while. It was nice to see where everyone before us came from, and I felt like I was writing our own little piece of history there.
We stayed at the Lizzy Ger, and I highly recommend it. It seemed a little more secluded than the other yurts, and it was close to the water too. Although they all seemed lovely, I really liked ours. I am sure that I am partial though! Lol.
Follow them at @theyurtopian and plan your visit NOW! It is seriously #glamping at it’s finest. We will definitely be back.
