Fideo Con Carne (Vermicelli with Ground Meat)

Fideo con carne is a traditional Mexican dish and one that I grew up with. Fideo is inexpensive at the grocery store, and can be served with a meat, potato, or a soup. Either way, this is a classic Mexican dish and it is delicious!

Fideo Ingredients:

  • Fideo
  • Meat (I used ground beef)
  • Vetetables (I use half an onion, corn, peas, sliced carrots, squash, green beans)
  • Can of diced tomato
  • Spices: Salt, pepper, garlic popwder, cumin,
  • Beef Broth
  • Water

How to make Fideo Con Carne

1. Use olive oil and brown the meat, drain. Push to side of pan.

2. Pour fideo on skillet/pan and brown just a bit. Push to side next to meat.

3. Add vegetables and spices to taste.

4. Add beef broth and water just above the food so fideo can cook.

5. Cook until vegetables are cooked through and fideo is soft. Usually about 15-20 minutes.
