I love easy dessert recipes for the holidays, and this one is a crowd pleaser for the Easter holiday! Rice krispie treats are a classic, so this simple and delicious treat is so cute, they will be asking you to make more!
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 10 ounce bag of marshmallows
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies (or any other crisp rice cereal)
- Easter Peeps
- Easter robin egg candies
**Cooking hack. When you make the nests, make sure your hands are wet (from water). This will prevent the rice krispies from sticking to your hands.
Easy Easter Krispie Peeps & Egg Treats!
Easter Rice Krispie Peep Nests
Ingredients
- 6 cups rice cereal
- 1 10oz bag of marshmallows
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- green food coloring
- parchment or wax paper
Instructions
- Pour coconut oil in large saucepan on low heat.
- Once coconut oil is melted, add the bag of marshmallows and stir until marshmallows have melted and mixture is smooth.
- Add green food coloring until desired color is achieved, adding little by little, stirring color.
- Add in the cereal and fold in cereal to the mixture until it is all mixed well together.
- Wet your hands so mix doesnt stick and make krispie balls. Place them on parchement paper. Then, with the back of a wet spoon, push the center part of the ball in to create the nest. (You can use a muffin tin if you have one to make the nests too.)
- Refrigerate for an hour so that the treat can harden and chill. Then, top the nests with peeps and chocolate eggs. Enjoy!
