In a big bowl, add softened cream cheese. If cheese is rock hard, leave it on the countertop for a while or soften in microwave for 10 seconds or less, out of the aluminum wrap.
Add drained, crushed pineapple. Make sure pineapple is dry! The less juice the better, too much juice can make it hard to work with. Fold into cream cheese.
Add powdered sugar, cranberries and pecans. Mix all ingredients well. (At this point you can add green onions and/or sliced hamĀ if you like.)
In a serving dish, form a ball from the mix and place in the middle of dish. Cover the ball with the sliced almonds. Sliced almonds will naturally stick to the mixture.
Refrigerate for an hour, covered. Dish is ready to serve when chilled.
