Oh, Ambrosia Salad. Do you ever have a special dish or a holiday dish that brings back memories? I do! When I was growing up, my grandmother always made Ambrosia Salad and I happily ate it.
This fluffy, fruity, marshmallow salad was always a winner in our home. I always asked for this dessert as a kid and repeatedly asked for seconds too.

I am a mom now, and because I am, I am always looking for kid friendly dishes. This one doesn’t disappoint! Ambrosia Salad is kid friendly, mom approved dessert that sneaks in some fruit which is always good, so this mama is happy.
Easy Dessert Recipe
Because this dish is quick and easy to make too, I am a double happy mama! So here you go, enjoy!

Easy to Make Ambrosia Salad
Ingredients
- 1 tub Whipped topping
- 1 1/2 cups Colored marshmallows (colored is preference, you can use all white too)
- 2 Mandarin oranges, sliced into pieces
- 1 can Pineapple chunks in own juice
- 1 can Fruit cocktail
- 1 cup Shredded coconut
- 1 cup Chopped nuts (I used walnuts, u can use pecans or any)
- 1 cup Marchino cherries diced. One whole for garnish
Instructions
- In large bowl, place one tub of whipped topping. Make sure it’s not frozen and is able to be folded.
- Drain both cans of fruit and add in the bowl.
- Add the 1 cup of shredded coconut, 1 cup of nuts and 1 1/2 cup of marshmallows and sliced mandarin oranges.
- Fold all ingredients together and refrigerate at least 30 min.

Many times I could not wait as a child and just ate it right after it was made. This dish tastes better chilled, but because I have an impatient husband and kids, many times it is served as is, lol.
